Extra virgin olive oil obtained directly from olives and only through mechanical procedures. La Casería de Jesús is a traditional olive farm located in the Puente de la Sierra (Jaén) and it is home to the Casería where the legend says that the image of Jesus Nazareno, popularly known as "El Abuelo" appeared. LEGEND Since the mid-19th century, a legend has taken root in Jaén that sheds light on the origin of the venerated image of Jesus the Nazarene. According to this legend, one afternoon around the year 1580, an elderly man asked for shelter to spend the night in a modest farmhouse near the Puente de la Sierra, after a long day of pilgrimage. While having dinner with the hosts, the old man noticed a large log in the living room and exclaimed, "What a beautiful image of Jesus could be made from this wood!" The old man asked them to take the log to a quiet room where he could carve the image as a thanksgiving for the hospitality of his hosts. The next day, seeing that there was no noise coming from the room, the hosts entered and were astonished to find that the old man had disappeared, leaving behind a beautiful image of Jesus Nazareno, now popularly known as "El Abuelo," a highly revered carving by the people of Jaén during their Holy Week. In remembrance of this miracle, the farmhouse began to be known as Casería de Jesús.
