In 1998, the Lefebvre brewery created Barbãr Winter Bok as a winter beer and it was produced in the months of October to February, recovering the old brewing traditions of brewing seasonal beers: during winter, stronger beers or beers with more energy sources were needed and roasted malt gives more energy, thus explaining why winter beers are mostly dark.
