Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola was born in 2016 being the most personal project of Pepe Mendoza, who for 25 years has been the oenologist of the Enrique Mendoza family winery in Alicante and one of those responsible for the international boom of Spanish wine in the 90s.
Casa Agrícola is an initiative carried out by Pepe Mendoza and his wife. He was for 25 years the winemaker of Enrique Mendoza, one of the most important wineries of the Alicante D.O., starts this new project with the intention of betting on the native properties of Levante and the most sustainable agricultural techniques.
The varieties with which Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola Tintowine is made are cultivated under ecological criteria and in a sustainable way, following traditional techniques that respect the vine and the environment. Vinification is carried out in 10,000 kg tanks. Whole grapes and stems are introduced in order to respect the fruit as much as possible. Autochthonous yeasts are used for fermentation and it is aged with very measured contributions of wood in French oak barrels for six months.
