Uses in the kitchen
Natural: Seasoned in salads (once hydrated).
Toasted: Crushed in a mortar as a seasoning. Baked as an appetizer.
Boiled: As a side dish in fish or meat dishes. In the preparation of soups, scrambled eggs, croquettes, empanadas, rice, and pasta.
Preparation
Hydrated: Soak in water with a little salt for 5 minutes. When hydrated, it increases 4 times its weight when dry.
Cooking: Boil for 15 minutes.
