The L' Amo Aubocassa Extra Virgin Olive Oil, made from Arbequina and Picual varieties, stands out for its exceptional quality, despite the climatic challenges in the island of Mallorca.
The rain and high temperatures facilitated the outbreak of repilo throughout the region, resulting in a significant reduction in flowering and a scarce harvest. The extreme heat during the flower setting stage caused the loss of a large portion of the fruits.
Throughout the olive tree's vegetative cycle, the olive grove experienced droughts and heatwaves. Despite these adversities, the fruits that managed to reach the harvest exhibited exceptional health and perfect ripening. The yield in the olive-to-oil transformation remained within normal levels, requiring 8.5 kg for each liter, equivalent to about 6,000 olives.
The peculiar terroir of the region is reflected in the characteristics of the soil, composed of limestone rock flakes arranged in intercalated clay laminae. The land, covered by 80% stones, presents a poor profile but very conducive to the cultivation of Mediterranean woody species. This unique environment contributes to the singularity and excellence of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil, highlighting the dedication and mastery of those who cultivate and produce this precious elixir in Mallorca.
