In 1998, the Fuentes Family decided to create the Finca Río Negro Wineries , recovering the famous, but extinct winemaking tradition of the area since the phylloxera arrived in the region around 1920.
Our farm is located in the town of Cogolludo, in the foothills of the Sierra Norte de Guadalajara Natural Park.
The high altitude of 1,000 meters makes us one of the highest vineyards from our latitude to northern Europe . This, added to the distance of 60 km to the nearest vineyard, makes us possess a unique and particular "terroir".
The harvest is manual , using exclusively grapes from our own vineyard and carrying out the entire production process on the property.
All of our wines are highly recognized by international critics.
