Kavalan has been recognized as the Barrique Single Cask Strength, as the best whisky in the world 2015 in the World Whisky Awards (World Whisky Awards), a competition organized since 2007 by the specialized magazine Whisky Magazine.

The recognized pure malt whisky is a distilled reference in Yilan County, northwest of the island of Taiwan, in the homonymous distillery, Kavalan, which although only has a decade of history has been deserving of a good number of awards and Recognitions all over the world.
A panel of expert tasters consisting of specialized journalists, hoteliers, tasters, retailers, cocktail guys, etc., made three rounds of rigorous blind tastings among the 300 whisky applicants. Three rounds were made, the whiskies selected in each category passed to the next round as part of the screening process. The criteria used to evaluate beverages have been balance, complexity, quality, functionality and personality.
