To produce Lindemans Cuvée René Kriek, the cherries ferment in a lambic that has been aged for at least six months in huge 10,000-liter oak barrels called foeders. After these months, this traditional kriek is bottled in 75 cl bottles with a cork. Then, the beer will undergo a second fermentation process in the bottle for several more months. It has been brewed at Lindemans since 1961, although since 2007, the term "Cuvée René" was added to it.
