Muriel Reserva Red Wine: this Rioja red wine is made with 100% Tempranillo grapes selected from vineyards owned by Bodega Muriel located in Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta, with very poor soils of calcareous or clay-loam type.
For the production of Muriel Reserva red wine, the grapes are received at the winery, destemmed, pressed, and taken to stainless steel tanks for fermentation for 15 days with daily pumping over to achieve the right color and tannins.
The wine is then aged in 225L American and French 225L Bordeaux oak barrels for 24 months with three rackings, and finally matured in bottle for 2 years to round out the wine and make it more palatable.
Muriel Reserva wine has been awarded the following prizes:
James Suckling 202192 points - Muriel Reserva 2016
International Wine Challenge 2021Silver - Muriel Reserva 2016
Gilbert & Gaillard 202090 points - Muriel Reserva 2016
