Cayenne pepper is a small shrub that belongs to the Solanaceae family, and from which sprouts a fruit called chili bell pepper. These fruits, when ripe, are left to dry and then ground. The fruits are also known as peppers, they start out yellow and as they ripen they turn red. When dried, they take on a darker hue, are ground when well dehydrated and, the resulting powder, is what is known as cayenne pepper, which is very hot.
Properties of chili.
