Popcorn
To make popcorn at home
Cover the bottom of a good wide frying pan with the oil and bring to the heat until very hot. Pour in the kernels of corn, leaving them in a single layer, and cover. Leave a small gap for the steam to escape
When the first popcorn starts to pop, lower the temperature to medium. Wait until the popping stops. Turn off the heat and uncover the popcorn.
Save the popcorn
Season with salt to taste, or butter and sugar if you prefer them sweet, while still hot, stirring well. When they have cooled a little, remove any kernels that haven't popped and any possible charred popcorn.
