In general terms, it is composed of: 50-55% resins and balsams, 30-40% waxes, 5-10% essential or volatile oils, 5% pollen and 5% miscellaneous materials (organic and mineral)
It has a resinous and granular consistency with a tendency to caking, variable and irregular dark brownish ochre color, with a dry, highly concentrated characteristic sweetish aroma and a slightly sour woody flavor
