Recuerdos a hierbas y ciertos toques balsámicos.'
The Red Wine La Montesa Ecológico from Bodegas Palacios Remondo presents this red wine from the D.O.Ca. Rioja, made from the grape varieties 95% Garnacha and 5% other reds.
Vineyard: 100 hectares of organic viticulture in orderly and neat formation. Classic vineyard surrounded by the rugged nature of Monte Yerga (municipality of Alfaro, La Rioja). Soils of calcareous conglomerates and clay-iron at 550 meters above sea level. An arid, windy environment, benefited by the refreshing factor of altitude. The temperament of the garnacha: traditional flavor to which historical prominence is restored. The fruits become a smooth and lively flow, elixir of life, intimate pleasure of nature.
Elaboration: The wine ferments with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, and then matures in oak barrels (85% French and 15% American) for 12 months. 20% are new barrels, 30% barrels of a single wine, 25% barrels of two wines, and another 25% barrels of three wines.
La Rioja Oriental, the driest, warmest, windiest, and most Mediterranean region of Rioja, is the origin of Bodegas Palacios Remondo.
The rugged and high environment of Monte Yerga, where the first Cistercian monks arrived, is where the winery recovers the traditional viticulture of garnacha as the protagonist and symbol of its own viticultural history.
Its vineyards of organic and natural agriculture are settled in the heights of Yerga in the Iberian system, a wild environment from which the Ebro Valley is dominated.
Geography, microclimates, and soils of calcareous strength. History, culture, garnacha. All of this converges and explains the deep viticultural identity of Alfaro (La Rioja).
