When this vineyard was planted in the Cantera de Santa Ana, it was a risky bet, being probably the first one in the Navarra Designation of Origin. The result was a great success, an exceptional wine. A single varietal wine made from Syrah grapes. A wine made with great care by Tomas Santos, owner of Fincas La Cantera.

Made in Spain Gourmet always offers the best of Spanish gastronomy.

The Cantera de Santa Ana estate is located in a privileged place known for centuries as the "Vineyard Hill." They carry out quality, passionate, and responsible viticulture. Their production is limited as they exclusively produce the grapes from the estate: Chardonnay, Syrah, Garnacha tinta, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo. Green pruning, thinning, selected harvest, macerations, malolactic fermentation in barrel, oak and bottle aging, the passage of time... are some of the magical tools they use to make their wines. The proximity of the Cantabrian Sea, the barrier of the Pyrenees, and the mild climate of the Ebro Valley make Navarra a unique place on the peninsula for grape cultivation. Here you can find Atlantic, continental, and Mediterranean climates. This denomination is divided into 5 zones: Baja Montaña, Tierra Estella, Ribera Alta, Valdizarbe, and Ribera Baja, where the Cantera Estate is located. In the heart of the Ebro Valley, with the Moncayo mountain range in the background, the unique nuances of this plot represent the terroir of the Estate Wines, handpicked and crafted with great care in a traditional way. A must-see are the Bardenas Reales de Navarra. You will fall in love with them. They were a setting in the sixth season of Game of Thrones. This desert Biosphere Reserve of 420 square kilometers is a jewel full of nature's whims. The Winery Their fourteen hectares are located in the Ebro Valley, in the heart of a large terrace known as the "Vineyard Hill." The Cantera de Santa Ana estate is "Soil, Moncayo, and Cierzo." The Moncayo, majestic as the highest peak of the Iberian system, protects them by trapping Atlantic clouds and cold. Its imposing size and its aura of sacred mountain create a unique, almost magical landscape. Alluvial soil and limestone. Fast draining and cool at the bottom. Exceptional for viticulture. The Cierzo. That cold, dry wind from the northwest. When it blows, it keeps our grapes healthy and our nights fresh. Respect for terroir and singularity They work the vineyard with passion and respect for the terroir. Through gentle work and no irrigation other than the natural rain. The conditions of this ecosystem and intense manual labor (green pruning, thinning, selection...) allow for sustainable and responsible cultivation. Chardonnay, Syrah, Garnacha tinta, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot are their varieties. Vintages, care, and time Traditional and careful elaborations, always taking into account the characteristics of each vintage. They aim to bring out the best of each variety. The process and timing are different for each; fermentations, macerations, oak aging, bottle rest... but one thing is common in all their wines, the care with which they are made.
