Red Wine Viñas del Vero Crianza
The Red Wine Viñas del Vero Crianza is made with an excellent selection of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the Campo Salas, Almunieta, Campo Corral, and Ponderosa vineyards. It belongs to the Somontano D.O.
The different vineyards from which the grapes are obtained to make this wine were planted between 1987 and 1989 in a dry area with sandy loam soils. The average altitude is 405 meters above sea level, and they are oriented from north to south for better sun exposure.
The Tempranillo vineyards were harvested during the last week of September, while the Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards were not harvested until the third week of October. In both cases, the grapes were destemmed and crushed, then cooled and fermented. In this way, the must macerated with its skins for 48 hours before starting the fermentation process, which lasted for 14 days. Once fermentation was finished, the wine was racked, and only the flower wines were used for the final blend, which aged in American oak barrels for 8 months. Subsequently, the wine was filtered and bottled.
It has an alcohol content of 14%, a pH of 3.45, total acidity of 5.34 g/l, and residual sugar of 2.9 g/l.
Serve this wine at a temperature between 15º and 17º, and it is recommended to decant it before serving.
The Viñas del Vero winery gets its name from a river in the Somontano region, the Vero River, famous for its canyons and gorges. The Viñas del Vero winery was established in Somontano at the end of 1986 with the acquisition of 550 hectares of land in Barbastro and other nearby towns. In 2008, Viñas del Vero became part of the González Byass Family of Wines.
