Valtravieso Winery and Vineyards presents to us the VT Tinto Fino Valtravieso Red Wine, an exceptional single-varietal of Tinto Fino, coming from the most limestone areas of the "La Cotarra Alta" and "Valdelobas" plots in the "La Revilla" estate. These vineyards, located at over 900 meters of altitude in the Páramo de Piñel de Arriba, have an average age of 25 years and are characterized by their low yields, which allows for a wine of great concentration and personality.

VT Tinto Fino is an expressive and characterful red wine, that combines power and elegance in every sip. Its production is limited, giving it a special status, and it has great aging potential, meaning it will improve with time in the bottle. This wine has been widely recognized for its quality, receiving 92 points in the 2022 Peñín Guide for the 2018 vintage, 96 points by Tim Atkin in the same vintage, and a Silver Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2020 for the 2016 vintage. Additionally, it has received 93 points from PARKER for the 2018 vintage.

The production process of VT Tinto Fino is meticulous. A careful selection of the best grapes from the most limestone plots is made, which then undergo a very short pre-fermentation maceration. During fermentation, the grapes are gently infused to release their compounds into the must, with one or two daily pump-overs and a precise délestage. The post-fermentation maceration is longer and determined by tasting.

The wine spends 16 months in barrels, 12 of which are in fine-grained, large-volume French oak barrels, with a further 4-month refinement in foudre, avoiding an excess of wood influence.
