Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) is a mushroom native to Japan
Rich in protein, iron, fiber, minerals, and vitamins (especially riboflavin and niacin). It contains a large amount of antioxidants (vitamins A, E, C, selenium, and superoxide dismutase), and "Lentin," which is a well-known cellular protector. Lentin is a sugar derivative and has been experimentally used in humans and animals as an anticancer agent. Its effect is indirect through the stimulation of white blood cells (lymphocytes), and the production of interferon, which is the hormone that stimulates the immune system. Interferon is used for cancer treatments and as an antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and for the treatment of hepatitis B; it contains substances that reduce cholesterol levels by 5% to 10%. It also contains the precursor of vitamin D, which becomes the active form (D3) with sun exposure.
Take 1 or 2 capsules twice a day, between meals. Keep in a cool, dry place.
Shiitake mushroom extract (Lentinus edodes), coating agent (capsule): cellulose, stabilizer: microcrystalline cellulose (E 460), anti-caking agent: magnesium stearate (E 470b).
