Absolut Vodka is a vodka from Sweden created in 1879 by Lars Olsson Smith, who introduced continuous distillation, instead of distilling vodka three or four times, it was distilled an infinite number of times.
Every drop of Absolut Vodka produced by The Absolut Company comes from a single location: the small village of Åhus, in southern Sweden.
Vodka Absolut is made exclusively from natural ingredients and, unlike many other vodkas, does not contain added sugar. The main ingredients are water and winter wheat.
The water comes from a deep well in Åhus, protected against impurities. This winter wheat is distinct from other crops: it is planted in the fall and harvested the following year.
Meanwhile, it grows under the Swedish snow, developing a hard grain. In addition, the use of fertilizers is minimal. The continuous distillation method is used, which involves distilling the vodka an infinite number of times, unlike other vodkas that are distilled 3 or 4 times.
It was first introduced in 1979 in New York, and the original recipe, which is over 30 years old, is still used.
Appearance: Vodka Absolut has a transparent and crystal-clear color.
Nose: It has a great cleanliness and purity on the nose.
Palate: It has a full-bodied and complex flavor, but smooth and mature with the distinctive character of wheat grain, followed by a hint of dried fruits. No added sugar.
Absolut is recommended to be consumed straight, on the rocks, or mixed with lemon. The purer the vodka, the better it combines with other flavors, which is why Absolut vodka is ideal for making cocktails like The Moscow Mule or the Absolut Tonic.
