Breeding
This Red Wine Aruma Malbec is aged in stainless steel vats so that the variety preserves its fruity style and potential. It is then aged in French oak barrels.
Making
The vineyards are located in the foothills of the Andes Mountains in Mendoza, Argentina. The Malbec grapes are harvested by hand, where they are carefully selected and once in the winery they are destemmed and crushed before being transferred to stainless steel vats to carry out the fermentation process.
Periodic pumping over and delestage are carried out during the vinification process, followed by a 15-day maceration process.
The name Aruma comes from a local language, Quechua, of the indigenous people of Mendoza and means "night". A symbol of the dark and light nights in the heights where the Malbec grape grows. It has a score of 92 points by Tim Atkin and 91 points from James Suckling for its 2017 vintage.
Bodega Caro
This winery was created in 1998 by the association of Domaines Barons de Rotschild (Lafite) and the Catena family. What was the objective? To produce a unique wine projecting two varieties and cultures: Argentina and France. The Catena family brought their knowledge of the Mendonza terroir and thus having the best Malbec vines, and on the other hand the Domaines Barons de Rotschild brought their knowledge of Cabernet Sauvignon and the art of producing great wines by blending vines.
