75 cl BottleVerdejo.Organic and vegan wine.
It represents the freshness, the wildest side of the Verdejo variety. The grapes come from different plots with clay-limestone soils and pebbles from the Rueda region, which are processed separately. The vines are between 20 and 25 years old. At Menade, they opt for fermentation with natural yeasts to achieve the maximum expression of their environment, aromas of fresh grass, minerality, and liveliness, the personality of Bodegas Menade. 100% Verdejo from certified organic natural viticulture treated in a special way, which seeks lower yields to achieve higher ripeness. Without the use of sulfur or copper in the vineyards. Made in Spain Gourmet always guarantees you the best of Spanish gastronomy. It is the new generation of the highest quality Verdejo wines.
100% Verdejo wine.
Certified organic natural viticulture treated in a special way, seeking lower yields to achieve higher ripeness.
"Returning to nature what man has stolen from it”THE VINEYARD
Technical SheetWinery: Own Vineyards, at Bodega Menade, Rueda (Valladolid)
D.O. RuedaDegree: 13.5%
Variety: 100% Verdejo
Serving Temperature: 8-10ºC
Tasting Notes: Menade Verdejo is a white wine that presents aromas of white fruits on the nose accompanied by herbal notes of fennel, laurel, and thyme. In the mouth, it is tasty, fresh, and balanced with a subtly bitter finish, very varietal. A Verdejo with clear typicity, with a long and elegant finish.
Winemaking:
The average age of the vines is between 20 and 25 years. The soil is clay-limestone and stony with abundant pebbles.
Climate: Continental climate, characterized by very cold winters and very hot summers, with large day/night temperature variations.
There are three different types of harvest: Green harvest (daytime and manual), nighttime and mechanized. Carbonic snow inertization (-80°C) from the moment of harvesting until pressing, allowing the wine to be made without any sulfur dioxide addition.
Winemaking: it is carried out in stainless steel tanks with wild yeast. Controlled temperature between 18 and 22ºC. The tanks have different capacities, allowing the separation of different plots/payments according to the differentiation of soil structures and compositions. Subsequent maturation of the wine on its lees for a controlled time.
Bottling: clarification with bentonite, natural cold stabilization, filtration before bottling.
Pairing: at Made in Spain gourmet we recommend it with white fish, fresh and mild cured cheeses, pasta with seafood, fish rice dishes.
The Vineyard

The key is to combine tradition and technology to pamper the vines. It is about finding an alliance with the environment to take advantage of the resources it provides, caring for it through traditional cultural practices. At Menade, they replace chemical treatments with other natural techniques, such as plant infusions (nettles, cinnamon...) or whey, which are more respectful of the soil, the vine, and the yeasts. Far from being enemies, the insects that inhabit the Menade vineyard are faithful allies in pest prevention. First, they are attracted with aromatic extracts to act as predators and then rest in their 'hotels', pollination gardens full of aromatic plants where insects and reptiles live in harmony. The ecosystem of the estates is completed with a series of mobile shrubs and trees to improve the biodiversity that populates the vineyard. A polyspecific garden with more than 40 species from Castilla y León that is alive all year round welcomes the winery. All these practices have an impact on the final result of the wines, as well as tasting good, they feel good. They produce wines free of allergens and histamines. Through all these mechanisms, Menade has gone beyond the organic label. They are no longer green, they are natural.WHERE 40 SPECIES LIVE
Also known as the Pollinator Garden of Bodegas Menade, it is a large polyspecific garden with native species of Castilla y León that is alive all year round, therefore perennial and caudal species have been used to develop a large floral circuit for all types of insects, seeking a great entomological variety.
The large Insect Hotel contains 40 species representative of the different strata of the ecosystem. At ground level, small-stem aromatic species have been planted, such as lavender, sage, or different types of rosemary.
At medium level, they have bet on wild roses, red heathers, sloes, elderberries, and wild blackberries, among others.
The plants and trees installed at Bodegas Menade come from outdoor crops with repotted roots, that is, a reinforced root system. A studied environmental restoration procedure in an area marked by progressive desertification, due to the climatic characteristics of the area and to cultural practices that are not very respectful of the environment.
