The year was particularly hot and dry in Argentina with a heavy spring frost that affected volumes almost everywhere but fortunately not at Piedra Negra. Therefore, harvest started particularly early this year with Pinot Gris in January to finish with Malbec in March and April with alcohols around 14.5% and a natural pH no higher than 3.7, 12 days earlier than 2019. This earlier harvest date is in response to an obvious change in the weather. It is a great vintage with beautiful balances.
