The Organic Kuzu Granules is a plant-based starch used to thicken soups and stews, in both sweet and savory sauces, glazes, desserts, and cake fillings. It is obtained from Pueraria Lobata, a plant widely used in traditional Chinese medicine, whose roots can grow up to two meters deep.

• In Japan, organic Kuzu is used as a muscle relaxant and a stimulant for blood circulation, thus relieving muscle tension. This condiment contains isoflavonoids, which helps with issues related to brain blood vessels such as headaches, eye fatigue, ringing in the ears, irritation, insomnia, etc. Additionally, its consumption contributes to the stabilization of the vegetative nervous system. Kuzu is also effective in reducing seizures and spasms in children and stiffness in the elderly, as it relaxes the parasympathetic nervous system.

Properties

• Organic Kuzu combats acidity, promotes beneficial digestive bacteria, reduces inflammation in the intestine, and helps stop diarrhea. In Chinese medicine, it is also used to treat menopausal symptoms, diabetes, colds with fever or cough, and musculoskeletal pain.

Preparation

• Kuzu is used as a thickener and it is recommended to heat slowly, stirring to avoid lumps. Then, simmer over low heat for at least 3 minutes. When it changes from white to translucent, it is ready. One to half a tablespoon of Kuzu thickens one cup of liquid.
