Macán, a wine that reflects the modern and unique essence of the DOCa Rioja, stands as a testimony of oenological excellence under the umbrella of Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia, a collaboration between Tempos Vega Sicilia and the Compañía Vinícola Edmond de Rothschild that began in 2004. The inaugural vintage of Macán was launched in 2009, and since then, it has been a journey of knowledge, effort, and continuous improvement. With 100 hectares of high-quality vineyards and modern production facilities that blend tradition, innovation, and technology, Macán stands as an oenological reference.

The Macán wine is made exclusively with Tempranillo grapes, carefully selected from old plots settled on high terraces with clay-limestone soils and poor in organic matter. The harvest, carried out in October, reflects the influence of the Atlantic cut, resulting in a fresher and more elegant vintage.

The vintage is characterized by lower production, but with excellent water reserves. The October harvest allowed for a more intense extraction, even increasing the weight of the barrel by 5%. Macán reveals itself as a vibrant and subtle wine, with a palette of nuances that reflect the precision and distinctive style of this unique project.
