Mark: Quesos Prestes
San Simón da Costa cheese is a Galician cow's cheese chosen as the Best Smoked Cheese in Spain at the 33rd edition of the Salón del Gourmet and won the Gold Medal at the World Cheese Awards 22; a medal that adds to the Silver one obtained at the World Cheese Awards the previous year held in Oviedo (Asturias).
It is a semi-cured cheese made with pasteurized cow's milk, rennet, and dairy ferments.
With a mild lactic flavor with a pleasant touch of nuts and butter, it leaves us with a lingering taste and intense scent of birch smoke.
It comes from Quesería Prestes, a family company in San Simón (Lugo) where their main values are respect for tradition, care in production, and the high quality of their raw materials resulting in true gourmet delicacies that have been awarded numerous times both nationally and internationally.
