This coffee comes specifically from the Sidamo region south of the capital, Addis Ababa. It is the southernmost and most productive province in the country. The region is known for having ideal climatic conditions for growing coffee. All of this is due to the high altitudes between 1600 and 1900 meters, abundant rainfall, optimal temperature, and rich soil. Washed Sidamos are typically high-quality coffee with unique flavors like sweet and floral lemon, and an ideal balance between acidity and body. Sometimes, this type can be favorably compared to coffee from the Yirgacheffe region.
