Rochelt black elderberry is made from the shiny black berries of the shrub of the same name. In the Tyrol, they are considered a health-promoting treasure in the garden and are highly prized in distilled form as a pleasant "health eau-de-vie".Our elderberry grows in Lower Austria under ideal climatic conditions and without the use of pesticides. The fully ripe berries are processed into puree directly at the fruit growers' harvest. It takes up to 55 kg of berries to distill one liter of this rarity, because the low sugar content of the fruit naturally limits the yield. Over time, it becomes a fine drop with fine, multi-layered fruity aromas: black berries, spicy and smooth with a delicate dark chocolate note.
