Matarromera Reserva is one of Matarromera's quintessential wines, an example of the care taken in the cultivation of grapes from their plots of Las Solanas and Las Celadillas, in Olivares de Duero, high altitude limestone plots facing south. The wine is aged in French and American oak barrels. They are fine-grained barrels for slow ageing and very soft toasting, just to accompany the characteristics of its terroir. It remains in them for 14 months. It is made with 100% Tempranillo grapes, remaining in these barrels for 14 months, and then resting for another 22 months in the bottle. Excellent layer of colour, dark cardinal with abundant violet tones that indicate an excellent longevity. In the olfactory phase it is elegant, intense and very complex. Acid black fruit, cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant, among riper black fruit, in harmony with a multitude of tones of ageing, spicy clove and black pepper, noble woods, fine roasts, liquorice and cocoa, with a mineral touch and Chinese ink. Good structure with an intense skeleton of sweet tannins. Velvety finish, long and very elegant
