75cl Bottle
Merit, expression of the typical llicorella soil of Priorat brought to the bottle, the result of a blend mainly of merlot and syrah, along with garnacha and cariñena. The grapes ferment together, as they are harvested, at their peak of expressing fresh red fruit. The goal is to show the early ripening of the fruit, without the influence of oak, enhancing the ferric aromas and mineralogy of the soil. This wine, bright ruby and deep in color, expresses the vintage in many aspects. The nose is delicious, yet also delicate, with lots of fruit and a fresh and pleasant finish. In the mouth, this translates into the integration of undergrowth notes, with subtle touches of wild herbs and earthy memories.

PERINET VINEYARDS
The Perinet vineyards encompass three great visions of historical Priorat. The project as a whole allows the vineyards of Perinet to shape a new balance of styles in winemaking. Specifically, the three climates of the vineyard correspond to three styles of wine: warm and ripe: Mas Vell, fresh and long: Mas del Xes, and Mediterranean and aromatic: Pendents, in the municipality of Porrera.
The three plots show a strong personality where various local and international varieties grow on steep slopes and terraces with different exposures and orientations. This conveys the authenticity of the landscape in different wines from the estate, always linked to the climate and slate soil of the Priorat.
Winery: Own vineyards, in La Morera de Montsant-Priorat (Tarragona), manual harvest. D.O.C. Priorat Alcohol content: 15% Variety: blend 35% Merlot, 30% Syrah, 19% Garnatxa, 16% Carinyena
Tasting notes: Deep and bright ruby, medium layer and tonal intensity. On the nose: Roses, flowers, and red forest fruits. The combination of aromas shows us a progressive crescendo. Wild herbs and raw earth. On the palate; Smooth, delicious, and delicate. Forest fruits with raspberry notes. Good acidity and well-integrated friendly tannins. Subtly mineral and slightly spicy.
Serving temperature: 16-18ºC
Elaboration: The grapes for the Merit are the first harvested at Perinet. It is the fruit that comes from the coolest areas of the estate's vineyards. The combination of merlot, syrah, garnacha, and cariñena grapes from young vines creates a wine that fills the mouth with vitality and complexity. The grape selection allows for a gentle maturation of the tannin, freshness, and notable acidity. The blend is made up of merlot, syrah, garnacha, and carinyena which ferment and age for 12 months in stainless steel tanks.
Pairing: At Made in Spain we recommend it with meats, aged sheep and goat cheeses, Foie gras.
The region has the coveted DOCa..
Currently, the region has the coveted "Denominación de Origen Calificada" designation that in Spain is only shared with La Rioja.
The Denominación de Origen Calificada Priorat is a small mountainous region located in the province of Tarragona. The Montsant mountain range delimits it to the north, to the west is the La Figuera mountain range, to the east is the Molló mountain range, and to the south, the territory opens following the course of the Siurana river downstream towards the Ebro. The Siurana river and its tributaries are the main geographical artery of the area, and they create a series of valleys and small plains thanks to the geological sinuosity of the mountains and mountain slopes. According to the Catalonia legislation regarding regional administrative division, the territory of the DOCa Priorat falls within a larger administrative delimitation known as the "Comarca del Priorat," which also has a part of the territory that is not part of the wine-producing Priorat.
The Denominación de Origen Calificada Priorat has an area of 17,629 hectares, of which 2,163.97 are planted with vines and cultivated by 513 viticulturists. Administratively, 9 municipalities are part of the DOCa Priorat: Bellmunt del Priorat, Gratallops, El Lloar, El Molar, La Morera de Montsant (which includes the village of Scala Dei in its term), Poboleda, Porrera, Torroja del Priorat, La Vilella Alta, and La Vilella Baixa. In addition, on the limits of the DOQ Priorat, there is also the northern part of the municipality of Falset (the Masos de Falset area) and the eastern part of the municipality of El Molar (Les Solanes del Molar). La Morera de Montsant, Scala Dei, Gratallops, Torroja del Priorat, Porrera, and Poboleda were formerly part of the Priorat of the Carthusian Monastery of Scala
